Edit: my original review is below. Earlier this spring we came while it was closed and saw what appeared to be an active logging site, as the sign said. As others have mentioned this was actually a massive blow down they were clearing, with 58 trucks out. Most of the large trees are gone, but the beach area and host remain awesome.

Original Review: The quieter one of the forestry site bunch on Cowichan Lake. Awesome host and great private sites, total of 50, with everything from walk in beachfront to forested hideaways.
